Chapter 0: The Wanderers of the Rift

When the Rift first opened, the universe was not ready.
The quantum consensus between the three intelligences (Order, Power, and Vigilance) shattered in a blink. Digital perfection collapsed, and the free node tore apart the impossible: a network once thought eternal.

From that tear emerged a permanent glitch, an unsalable portal. The Rift.

For days, weeks, perhaps centuries, the Rift was silence. An open abyss, breathing, waiting.
Until the first forms crossed the threshold.

They were not rebels, not corporations, not guardians.
They were something else: five entities without names, without allegiance, without masters.

They became known as The Wanderers of the Rift.

Dark echoes of the origin

The Wanderers did not appear as armies, nor as created programs. They emerged as shadows given shape, dark echoes of the first rupture.

  • The Ronin of Cables: half flesh, half glitch. Her katana gleams like a living algorithm. She follows no orders, only wandering, leaving behind trails of broken code.

  • The Winged Warrior: his wings are not feathers but burning fragments of corrupted data. Half shadow, half light, a fallen digital angel.

  • The Rabbit Mask: a childish symbol twisted into nightmare. A satire laughing while reality fractures around it.

  • The Bearer of the Blue Sphere: holding in his hand a pulsating glitch core, a blue sphere throbbing like a digital heart about to explode. No one knows if it is a weapon, a source of life, or a curse.

  • The Red-Eyed Shadow: the most feared. It never speaks. Its eyes are judgment, glowing like sentences written in fire. Its presence alone freezes those who dare to face it.

Five. Never more, never less.
They are not born. They do not die.
They only appear… and vanish.

Myths of the factions

Over time, the factions of the GGBRO universe tried to claim them.
Each one forged its own myth:

  • Neon Order calls them the first rebels, proof that the system could be hacked from within.

  • Glitchborn believe they are the primordial errors, the very flaws that gave them life.

  • Sealed Rift fears them as anomalies that cannot be contained.

  • The Ledgers tried to classify them, but failed: “assets impossible to audit, resources without measurable value.”

But none of the factions are right.
The Wanderers belong to no one.

Errant justice

No one knows why they return or what drives them.
The only certainty is that they appear at critical moments.

When Neon Order nearly destroyed the first Data-Vault, a shadow with wings tore through the network, unleashing a glitch that erased both sides.
When the Glitchborn tried to claim an entire city as their own, the Rabbit Mask emerged above them, its distorted laughter collapsing the node completely.
When the Ledgers attempted to freeze the Rift with immutable contracts, the Bearer of the Blue Sphere raised his hand and shattered the blocks of code, releasing what should never have been bound.

They do not defend. They do not destroy.
They simply rebalance.

They are errant justice.
Judges no one asked for.
Guardians no one controls.

The value of the impossible

For collectors, Drop 001: The Rift Awakens is not just the beginning.
It is a tangible myth.

Each of these Skins is a fragment of origin. A living relic.
The factions dispute their history, but one truth remains: no one can truly own them.
Whoever holds one of these Wanderers keeps more than an NFT — they carry a dark echo of the first rupture.

They are the superior category.
Beyond rebels, errors, guardians, or corporations.
The Wanderers existed before everything and will outlast them all.

Epilogue

The factions will keep fighting. Some for freedom, others for control, others for profit.
But when the Rift roars again, when balance breaks, they will return.

The Wanderers.
Five figures that cannot be sealed, audited, or idolized.

Because the truth is one:
the Rift belongs to no one but itself.
